I got an email today that we will be doing our homestudy the last 24,25, or 26th or March. We have to baby proof our house lol....I really feel weird putting child locks on our cabinet doors (we will never get them open) hahaha!!! We have to get fire extinguishers for every floor and I guess that is pretty much all. I am really nervous! For those who don't fully understand a homestudy, it is a study of your home :) there is a social worker who will ask us questions together and individually about why we want to adopt, how we were raised, how we plan to parent, questions about our past and present, and to inspect the home to see if it is fit for a child to live in. They take this information and write a 15 page report which will be turned in with to our adoption agency and then on to immigration. Lots to do!!!
I graduate with my BA in Health Care Administration from Ashford University in OCTOBER!!!!! I am sooooo excited!
We should find out this week or next if Sergeant First Class Wise will become Lieutenant Wise :)
Josh and Brittany,
ReplyDeleteI hope that all goes well with your adoption, graduation, and promotions. Man, it sure seems like you guys have got so much going on. I want both of you guys to know that you are not alone in this journey; and that you have friends like me and Jennifer to encourage you along the way. Let's not forget that God is watching over all of us including your precious son or daughter-to-be in Ethiopia. Remember that He never fails! Keep your eyes focused on the prize, that is Jesus Christ, and all other things will fall into place! As I said in my letter to you guys, He adopted us all, so why shouldn't we look to adopt someone who needs a new life, a new start, a rebirth, a new beginning.
Jennifer and I love you both and hope to see you again soon!
Sincerely,
Adam
Wow, all I got to say is what he said.... Adam is so well spoken and beat me to it!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, Josh and Brittany, I know you two will make great parents and will make that child happier than he/she could ever know otherwise. I can only imagine the situations and experience your future child would face if you weren't big-hearted enough to make this decision.
God bless you, your future child and may you all have many years of happiness. I know waiting is tough, but just think of how great the prize will be!
Please keep us in the loop and let us know if you ever need anything.
